Day 1: Arrival 24.06.
After checking into your room, we will begin our warm-up tour and learn lots of interesting facts about the region. Afterwards, we will be able to cool off our tired legs in the Kneipp spa before cycling back to the hotel for dinner.
Day 2: Source of the Enns – Schladming – Haus, ca. 50 km.
Our bus will bring us to the headwaters of the Enns in the Flachauwinkel region of Salzburg province. Here, our downriver tour begins, taking us via Flachau, Altenmarkt, Radstadt and ending in the sports mecca, Schladming. Here we will enjoy an extended break, a stroll through town and refreshments. When we are done, we will cycle back to Haus. In the afternoon: A visit to our local mountain (the Hauser Kaibling) is a must. From the valley lift station right behind the hotel, we will enjoy a pleasant ride to the top of the 2,015 meters-high mountain.
Day 3: Öblarn – Admont – Gesäuse, ca. 70 km.
Today, the bus will bring us to Öblarn. We will cycle alongside the River Enns and through numerous small villages, including Wörschach with its castle ruins, until we reach the popular shopping town of Liezen. We then continue to Admont, with the world's biggest abbey library (entrance included) and, if we wish, we will enjoy a lunch in the Stiftskeller. Then we will cycle on through the Gesäuse, one of the mightiest rocky gorges in Europe - some 17 km long. A narrow road, the railway line and a roaring river - during this stage of the Enns Bike Path, that's all there is room for! After this memorable nature experience, the bus will be waiting for us in Hieflau, taking us back to the hotel.
Day 4: Salzkammergut and Grundlsee, ca. 50 km.
Bus ride to Bad Mitterndorf and the ski-jump facilities. Below the jump, we will begin our bike tour through the Salzkammergut region. Passing Maria Kumitz pilgrimage church, we will come to the Ödensee, a beautiful natural moorland lake. We will circle the lake and stop for refreshments at the Kohlröserlhütte. After Kanaisch,we will take on a short mountain stage (we will simply push our bikes) to the shores of the Grundlsee. Following the lake shore to Gössl, we will eventually come to the legendary Toplitzsee. It is said that, at the end of the last war, an enormous treasure was sunk in the waters here. We then ride the bus back to the hotel.
Day 5: On the Dachstein and "Cool-Down Tour", ca. 25 km (bad-weather alternative: Around the "Steirischer Bodensee").
We will ride the bus up to the Ramsau high plateau and continue to the Dachstein gondola lift. Awaiting us today, if visibility is good, is a very special mountain experience. We will ride the gondola up to the 2700 meters-high Dachstein glacier and enjoy magical views extending all the way to the Grossglockner. Once at the toll station,we will get on our bikes and enjoy a ride down the Dachstein Road. Filzmoos, at the foot of the Bischofsmütze, is our last stop before, in Eben, we load up our bikes and get on the bus to head for home.
