Our mountain hiking guides Peter and Bernadette are not only passionate hikers and know this area like their own back pockets, they have also completed extensive training and have confirmed their skills with state certification.
They tailor their guided hikes to the physical abilities and wishes of our guests as well as the current daily weather conditions. Away from the big hiking paths, there is a lot to discover: rare plants and animals, unique landscapes and mysterious places associated with intriguing tales and legends. And needless to say, a pleasant stop for refreshments is also an important part of every hike!
Our two mountain guides Peter and Bernadette regularly attend training courses to stay up to date and to be able to accompany our guests in the best possible way during their hiking experiences.
In the summer of 2023, both Peter and Bernadette completed a training course on the topic of "Dealing with fear of heights" in order to be able to act and react correctly in challenging situations.

I actually received professional training in gastronomy at Panoramahotel Gürtl from 2010 - 2014. Because I am an avid hiker, my boss asked me if I wanted to take part in a course for hiking guides. I happily agreed, especially as it’s a fantastic counterbalance to my work here at the hotel.
I successfully completed the winter and summer courses, and am able to help Peter with his hiking tours. I love to show our guests the most beautiful scenic mountains in our region.
Gertrude, our receptionist, is also a passionate hiker. You can always count on her for great advice, hiking tips and recommendations.
Marion Gürtl is responsible for family hikes, with fantastic tips for in-and outdoor activities involving children, big and small.
Marion and Gertrude also
organize rucksacks, drinks bottles and hiking poles for guests to borrow. Simply
ask at the reception.
